The Time We Included a Shark in a Wedding

Well, we can now say we’ve included a shark in a wedding… but it’s probably not what you’re thinking.

Kevin O'Leary, also known as Mr Wonderful & one of the Shark Tank investors, recognized the state of our industry amidst COVID-19.

“Mr Wonderful’s Wedding Rescue.”

He gave away thousands of dollars to couples whose weddings were affected by COVID-19 & the grand prize winner got a virtual wedding officiated by... the one & only Mr Wonderful! (Plus a free week long honeymoon in Jamaica )

It was such an honor to plan & coordinate this virtual wedding. The couple was having their ceremony in California, Kevin was officiating from out of the country, we were planning & coordinating all of it here in Florida & their friends & family who attended were from all over the the world.

Following this experience, we realized their may be a need during these uncertain times for virtual weddings. Travel & gathering in groups may be on hold for a bit, so we want to provide a safe way for couples that choose to move forward with their wedding plans, but don’t want to sacrifice including all of their loved ones in the celebration.

Our virtual wedding planning services are for any couple looking to take their wedding “Behind the Screens” & create a memorable experience that proves that love always finds a way.

In your life before COVID-19, it’s possible you didn’t know anyone that was planning to elope. You may have never heard the term “intimate wedding” or “micro wedding”. But, now we’re seeing these terms buzz around all over the place.

There may be some minor differences between these terms, but essentially they all mean the same thing, in our opinion - a non-traditional wedding that is intentionally intimate & focuses on creating a meaningful experience that authentically reflects the love two people share.

You are still choosing to invest in your special day, but the focus is on the two of you & what matters most.

Couples are having to make choices about their wedding day in an unprecedented way.

If you or a loved one is planning a wedding right now, you may be asking questions like,

“How do I keep my loved ones safe while still celebrating with them?”

“Should we put off our wedding until next year?”

“How do we make our non-traditional wedding a special day still?”

Every single person’s situation is different & everyone will have different answers to these questions.

If you don’t want to put off your wedding day in hopes that a traditional wedding with a guest count in the 100s will be possible, there are still so many options for you! Now is the time to get creative & to consider a special day that commemorates the love you & your partner share. Love is not cancelled!

Just like a traditional wedding, there is not a one-size-fits-all to elopements.

Usually, elopements include the couple, photographer, officiant, and whatever small group of family and friends they both may want to include. Remember, this day is intentionally intimate, small, and meaningful to reflect who you both are.

If the idea of spending your wedding day the way YOU want to, in an intimate setting following your own version of the rules, sounds like your perfect day, then elopement may be the way to go!

How To Elope

Whether you’re being forced by circumstance to celebrate your marriage in a more intimate fashion or you’ve decided on your own to go a non-traditional route, you may be wondering: How do I elope? Just like a traditional wedding, there is not a one-size-fits-all to elopements.

Many may think of elopements as a couple running off to Vegas on a whim, but in reality, they can be so much more than this! An elopement, in our definition, is an intentionally intimate & meaningful experience that authentically reflects the love two people share. You are still choosing to invest in your special day, but the focus is on the two of you & what matters most.

Usually, elopements include the couple, photographer, officiant, and whatever small group of family and friends they both may want to include. Remember, this day is intentionally intimate, small, and meaningful to reflect who you both are.

Think about how you as a couple would like to commemorate your marriage. For some, this may mean being in nature. Perhaps, you choose your favorite outdoor activity & make your wedding day an adventure, like hiking to a scenic location in a National Park to exchange your vows!

For others, it may be an intimate gathering with a delicious meal prepared at a local restaurant or by a professional chef in your home.

If the idea of spending your wedding day the way YOU want to, in an intimate setting following your own version of the rules, sounds like your perfect day, then elopement may be the way to go!
