Rupert & Colby are brothers & best friends! These two retrievers have a strong bond, not only with each other, but with their mom & dad, also.
Since they are such a big part of the family, it was important that they were included in this big day in their parent’s lives.
We picked the boys up from home where they showed us all their favorite toys & tricks before heading to the venue for photos before the ceremony. They greeted all the guests & walked down the aisle with the biggest smiles!
Here is what the Bride had to say about including Rupert & Colby in the wedding day!
Why did you include your dogs in your wedding?
They are like our children and we couldn't imagine such an important day of our lives not including them.
What is the story of how your dogs became a part of the family?
I (Megan) got Colby while in college because I wanted a companion. I initially was just going to check out the litter and walked away with my deposit down on my Colbybear. Then 2 months later, I met Tommy. Colby & Tommy were not initially very big fans of each other- some jealousy from both sides, but now they're best friends!
We graduated college and moved home a year and a half later and immediately realized Colby needed a buddy! Rupert came to us all the way from Minnesota! My best friend's mom had his litter of puppies and wanted them all to go to good homes. She also happens to work for Delta. So once Rupert was ready, she flew him down to Orlando! Colby & Rupert have been inseparable ever since.
Did you incorporate your dogs into any other details on your wedding day?
They were on our favors we gave to our guests, which were koozies! Thanks to FairyTail we were able to see them at our hotel the morning of while getting ready!
All dogs are the best dogs, but tell us something that makes your dogs special?
They are the bestest and most sweetest boys! Colby is the fetch master and Rupert will bump his butt on you till you give him scratches.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with us about your dogs?
Dad used them to propose to me!!

Macy, the Weimaraner, had the biggest smile on her face the entire day which was completely infectious! You can’t look at her, with those big floppy ears & tongue hanging out, without smiling back.
She walked down the aisle at her parent’s wedding & posed like a model in her fresh greenery collar for photos.
It meant a lot for her to be there on this special day & we were so happy to help make that happen!

Why did you include your dogs in your wedding?
We included Macy in our wedding because she is family and the day would t have been the same without her.
What is the story of how your dogs became a part of the family?
I've had Macy since she was a puppy. When I met Kenny he was more of a cat lover but the more he got to know Macy he couldn't get enough of her. Now he is in love with her just as much as I am!
Did you incorporate your dogs into any other details on your wedding day?
We included a silhouette of a couple with a Weimaraner as our cake topper. Other than that she was around up until photos after the reception were finished.
All dogs are the best dogs, but tell us something that makes your dogs special?
Macy is the most special dog because she is ours. Our family wouldn't be the same without her amazing, loving, snuggling personality.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with us about your dogs?
I think that paints a pretty great picture of the love we both have for our fur baby!

We were lucky enough to spend lots of time getting to know Ace & Dakota & their parents. We spent the day together, helping to include them in the engagement photos.
There is no doubt that they are a big part of the family & we could see why! They each had so much personality & absolutely loved being around Mom & Dad & being a part of all the fun!
Here is what the Bride had to say about including Ace & Dakota in the wedding day!
Why did you include your dogs in your wedding?
We wanted to include Ace and Dakota in our wedding because they are part of our family. Our big day would not have felt complete without them there!
What is the story of how your dogs became a part of the family?
Chris and I are big animal lovers, but neither of us had any pets when we started dating. We had always talked about getting a dog, and about 3 years into our relationship Chris surprised me by stopping at an animal shelter on the way to my parents house for Christmas. We immediately fell in love with Ace and his permanent wink, and knew we had to take him home!
About 6 months later we went to the store to get some dog food and there happened to be an animal rescue there trying to get dogs from a high kill shelter adopted before they were put down. Before we knew it Chris had scooped up Dakota and she did not get put back down until we got home! We had already talked about Ace needing a buddy and Dakota was the perfect fit for our little family.
Did you incorporate your dogs into any other details on your wedding day?
We tried to incorporate our pups into as much as we could! We had them at our engagement photo shoot and they were on our invitations. We also had them added to our cake topper and in the photos that were used for the guest book and venue decor.
All dogs are the best dogs, but tell us something that makes your dogs special?
There is so much that makes these two special but I will try to keep it brief!
Ace of course has his signature one-eyed wink. He is the most loving dog ever - he literally sneaks into bed in the morning and crawls between us so he can maximize his snuggles. He was found in the woods in Georgia and lived a rough life before we found him, so if he does not absolutely have to go outside, the couch in the AC is where he will stay.
Dakota has the cutest little baby ears - they stopped growing when she was just a few months old and they are absolutely adorable. She loves belly rubs and will give you a huge grin if you scratch the right spot on top of her head! Unlike her brother, Dakota LOVES dirt - her favorite thing to do at the dog park is roll around in it until she’s completely covered.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with us about your dogs?
Our pups are such a huge part of our lives, we could not imagine it any other way. We are so grateful that FairyTail Pets was there to not only help us incorporate them into our wedding day, but to make sure they were comfortable and had tons of love and attention!
